Ozone generators

You have come to the right place for anything ozone related here at Tol Watertechniek! We provide a range of ozone generators.

Purusaqua Basic generators are economical in use, provide a high concentration of ozone and are, on top of that, very affordable.

Purusaqua Compact generators are available as air- and water-cooled generators. These generators are very economical and provide very high ozone concentrations. The small size and high ozone yield makes them amazing little power packs!

Purusaqua Hicon generators are meant for demanding industrial applications and uses that require a lot of ozone. The HiCon series covers a range of 100 to 2000 grams of ozone per hour. Bigger systems can of course be created by placing multiple systems parallel to each other.

An ozone generator can also be called an ozoniser, ozonator or ozonisator but these are all the same thing.

Please note that dry supply air is of the greatest importance when you want your generator to have a long lifespan. This is why we recommend the use of an air dryer or an oxygen generator!

Ozone generators are versatile devices that have gained recognition for their ability to purify both air and water. These machines utilize the power of ozone, a molecule composed of three oxygen atoms (O3), to effectively eliminate contaminants and improve overall quality. In this comprehensive guide, we will explore the various aspects of ozone generators, including their functionality, applications, and the benefits they bring to our environment and health.

Ozone Generators

Ozone generators are electronic devices designed to produce ozone (O3), a naturally occurring gas with potent oxidizing properties. Ozone is created by exposing oxygen (O2) molecules to energy sources such as UV light or corona discharge. This process converts oxygen into ozone, which can be used for a wide range of applications.

Ozone generators can vary in their ozone output capacity, typically measured in grams per hour (g/h) or milligrams per hour (mg/h). The choice of generator depends on the specific application and the volume of air or water to be treated.

There are several methods for generating ozone:

  1. Ultraviolet (UV) Ozone Generators: These devices use ultraviolet lamps to convert oxygen molecules into ozone. These types are particularly suited for applications were no dry feeding gas is available. The efficiency of these type of ozone generators is low.
  1. Corona Discharge Ozone Generators: In corona discharge ozone generators, an electrical discharge is passed through oxygen or dry air, causing the formation of ozone. This type is often employed for industrial applications. It has a very high efficiency.

A power consumption as below can be expected:

  • Ambient air fed: 40W per gr/hr of ozone
  • Dry air fed: 25~30W per gr/hr of ozone
  • Oxygen fed: 10~15W per gr/hr of ozone
  1. Electrolysis: In water ozone can be made by a process called electrolysis. This method is suited for specific applications such as semiconductor industry. Clean water is required for this process.

Ozone Water Generator

Ozone water generators are specialized devices designed to infuse water with ozone. It is not only an ozone generator but it also includes the equipment to inject ozone into water. Usually an injector which suck ozone into a water stream. Depending on the application a contact tank is used as well.

More advanced systems also have a electronic control system to monitor various process parameters such as redox and ambient ozone levels.

Pond Ozone Generator

Pond ozone generators are specialized devices that perform a crucial role in improving the water quality of ponds and other aquatic ecosystems. By harnessing the power of ozone, these devices work to create a cleaner and healthier environment for aquatic life.

Pond ozone generators are usually relatively small, air fed ozone generators. The capacity of these ozone generators is often in the 1 to 5 gr/hr range.

Injecting ozone into the water, initiating a potent process of oxidation. This ozone swiftly breaks down organic matter, controls algae growth, and eliminates impurities, resulting in crystal-clear water. This not only enhances the visual appeal of the pond but also establishes a more favorable habitat for fish and other aquatic species.

These generators find applications in various settings, such as:

  1. Ornamental Ponds and Lakes: They are widely used in ornamental water features to prevent algae blooms and maintain water clarity.
  2. Fish Farms: In aquaculture, these generators are indispensable for maintaining water quality and ensuring the well-being of fish.

The advantages of utilizing pond ozone generators include:

  1. Effective Algae Control: Pond ozone generators keep algae growth in check, reducing the need for chemical algaecides that can harm aquatic life.
  2. Improved Water Clarity: Clear water not only looks more appealing but also supports the life within the pond.
  3. Odor Reduction: These generators help eliminate any unpleasant odors associated with stagnant or polluted water bodies.
  4. Eco-Friendly Solution: Ozone treatment is environmentally friendly, ensuring that the aquatic ecosystem remains unharmed while contaminants are effectively removed.

Ozonator

An ozonator is just another word for an ozone generator. Atlhough an ozonator usually refers to an ozone generator for air treatment.

Air Purification with Ozonators

Ozonators designed for air purification generate ozone, which is released into the air to eliminate pollutants, allergens, and odors. They are commonly used in residential, commercial, and industrial settings for:

  1. Odor Control: Ozonators effectively neutralize unpleasant odors caused by pets, smoking, cooking, and other sources.
  2. Allergen Reduction: Ozone can help reduce allergens like dust mites and pollen in indoor environments.

Water Ozonator

A water ozonator is used for water treatment. It can be used for applications like:

  • Colour removal
  • Odour removal
  • Removal of persistent pollutants

For water treatment a water ozonator should be used combined with an injection system. As an ozonator only produces ozone gas. This gas must be injected into a water stream to utilize the oxidation power of ozone.

A water ozonator is also referred to as ozone generator.

FAQ

What is an ozone generator, and how does it work in water treatment?

An ozone generator is a device that produces ozone gas. Ozone is a powerful oxidizing agent that can effectively eliminate contaminants in water. But it also can be used for disinfection or colour removal.

What types of water treatment applications are suitable for ozone generators?

This may include drinking water purification, wastewater treatment, swimming pool sanitation, and industrial water processes.
